Charles Salois, Owner & Principal Engineer
With more than 30 years of engineering experience, Charles Salois brings a diverse and practical background to every project undertaken by Salois Engineering. His professional experience spans construction, consulting, facility engineering, manufacturing, environmental health and safety, utilities, environmental remediation, chemical refining, and nuclear power. This broad expertise allows him to approach challenges from multiple perspectives and deliver solutions that are both technically sound and practical in the real world.
Charles earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University and has built a career focused on solving complex engineering problems while helping clients achieve their goals safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
Before beginning his engineering career, Charles proudly served in the United States Army as a Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic, earning an honorable discharge. His military service helped shape the values that continue to guide his work today: integrity, discipline, accountability, and commitment to excellence.
A lifelong Montanan, Charles graduated from Polson High School and has lived in every region of the state. As a member of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana, he maintains a deep connection to Montana's communities and culture. Growing up, he spent countless hours traveling throughout the state with his father to attend tribal council meetings, experiences that strengthened his understanding of people, communities, and the importance of building lasting relationships.
Over the course of his career, Charles has worked with organizations of every size, from major corporations to individual entrepreneurs. He has served as both an employee and a contractor for large companies, providing engineering expertise across multiple disciplines and giving clients confidence in the successful execution of complex projects. At the same time, he has partnered with small business owners and startup ventures, helping them develop innovative solutions and gain a competitive advantage. He also has extensive experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver demanding projects requiring specialized expertise and coordinated execution.
